The Midlands and Umbria. How are the Midlands? Surely, the middle of Italy is very nice and it is worth a visit. And the wellingtons in Umbria? Well, I do not know, although I can speak of Collescipoli, near the town of Terni…

And do you know what a Cornish quay and the Roller Team are? The first one with Jamie Oliver inside?!

Camping and motor home. Tim Moore should be very lucky for his family holidays camping and motor home…

09.03.10 – Women’s Day. Dear ladies, how was your Women’s Day?

Caution, cleaners at work.

25.04.09 – Italy and the “Liberation Day”. Today it is a Bank Holiday here in Italy because we Italian recall the “Liberation Day”.

A Partisan woman in Italy. BBC Radio4’s Lara Corner went to Milan to refer about a partisan woman. I do not know a lot about her and cannot assure then about the trueness of the items in the reportage, but here there is the page with a recording. As for Easter, here there is another link in what I write next.

Kent, Canterbury, Rowan Williams and Easter. Some young people took an Easter pilgrimage with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, the Bishop of Dover, the Rt Rev Stephen Venner, and the Bishop of Maidstone, the Rt Rev Graham Cray.

Pilgrimage time in Canterbury. The youths left from their churches around Kent and reached Patrixbourne and then the Canterbury Cathedral (where do they are?).

In foreign policy, too few people again realise that the Liberal Democrats are not true internationalists but a Fortress Europe party indifferent to the needs of those suffering beyond the EU’s walls. Thus they opposed the second Iraq war for good reasons, but offered no support to Iraqi liberals and democrats hoping for something better after 30 years of unremitting tyranny.

An excerpt from this text is also what I write now: “But Lincoln was struck down the following month and the Bureau was officially abolished in 1872. Consequently, from 1877 to 1965, States and localities enacted “Jim Crow laws” thereby stifling Lincoln’s vision of assisting the refugees (mostly former slaves). It would take 99 years for the US Civil Rights Act of 1964 to renew what Lincoln began”. Have a nice reading…

Bruges and near Florence, Leona Lewis and Dublin

calogeromira.wordpress.come-mail

Leona Lewis

Three nights in Bruges, Belgium, from 175 pounds travelling by train. The supplier is Great Getaways. A playlist of mine about travel and another one.

IT. John Postill, social computing and the EU Information society.

Leona Lewis. A photo in Dublin.

27.11.09 – Seville. Please consider that it has been postponed the deadline for the jobs of researchers at the IPTS in Seville, Spain, to Tuesday, December 1st. Please see also below.

Travels and Seville. Tourism and Seville or Trip Advisor and this city in Andalusia.

13.11.09 Well, I do not know anyone who works as a Building Management Assistant, but you may become the first one. And above all, are you ready to work at the EIT? It is based in Budapest (Hungary) and it is the European Institute of Innovation and Technology… Really not a lot of time, although, as you may apply till Friday, November 13, at midday (local time, I suppose).

As for technical competence, even “worst” – or “better” from another point of view – for the IT Officer who will deal with the infrastructure. Or for the Finance Assistant with nine years – if I am not wrong – of professional experience… Let’s not speak of the Legal Officer

An add. Well, did you know that there are the KICs, Knowledge and Innovation Communities? Moreover, I wonder where… There is also an offer for a KICs Project Officer.

10.11.09 Ehm, 15 years of work experience are quite a  lot for a post of Head of Operations Unit at the European Institute for Gender Equality, based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Ehm again, the deadline is today, Tuesday November 10. And who knows how Lithuania is for tourists… Furthermore, for a vote about travel destinations, please see very below.

“French” secretary. If you not only like words of French as merci, bonjour and bonsoir, but also have a good command of this language, you may apply for a post of secretary at the Eurojust in The Hague (the Netherlands). In this case, there is much more time available as you may apply till Thursday, November 12. Please let me know if you will be selected.

06.11.09 All the next offers with deadline Friday, November 6, at different times… Head of Unit Human Resources at the EChA (European Chemicals Agency), based in Helsinki, Finland (guide for applicants, application form and EChA CV in pdf and word). Legal Adviser at the CdT in Luxembourg (application form). Research Officer about Living Conditions at the EuroFound in Dublin, Ireland and here the notice of open cometition in the Official Journal of the European Union.

– Not very important: another Journal and again another one

03.11.09 Maybe you are an expert on ICT. And, furthermore, you would become a researcher at the IPTS (the Institute for Perspective Technology Studies), based in Seville, Spain. You could work at the Information Society Unit in the field ICT Industry Competitiveness and Innovation in Europe if you will apply till Tuesday November 3rd.

Managing, Poland and Warsaw. The Frontex from Warsaw (Poland) is looking for a Management Assistant to the Administration Division with nine years of professional experience and an “excellent, close to native command of written and oral English”.

30.10.2009 It should be very difficult to become a Director in the Directorate for General Affairs (DGA) at the European Economic and Social Committe (EESC), an EU institution. But if you would like to apply, you have to do it by the closing date of Thursday October 29. Please consider that fifteen years of postgraduate professional experience – and five of them in a management position – are quite a lot… Aren’t they?

It also seem quite important that there are some offers for the President of the Ohim (Office for Harmonization in Internal Market), based in Alicante, Spain, an institution that deals with trade marks in the EU (form), for a Vice-president (form) and for a President of the Boards of Appeal (form). Really good luck…

Head of Human Resource for the TEN-T EA (Trans-European Transport Network Executive Agency), based in Brussels, Belgium, and I believe that quite a lot of workers are working in this field. There are other posts of Assistant to the Director and, till Friday October 30, of GIS Manager (Geographical Information System). Any suggestion about GIS?

26.10.2009 Working as a Senior Analyst at the FRONTEX in Warsaw? It could be a possibility till Monday, October 26, and you could also apply, but till a day later, Tuesday October 27, for a post of Senior Assistant in the same city. May I ask you why are you looking for a job? Are you working for a society that produces cars?

Romania. MEP Adina-Ioana Vălean on Frontex

Vodpod videos no longer available.

And what about being one of up to four Assistant Researchers at the EUI (European University Institute) near Florence? You should be specialized in economics, social or political sciences… Deadline on Wednesday, October 28.
